Making a House a HOME

Since we moved into our new house the Friday before Thanksgiving and with all the cleaning and unpacking burning me out before Christmas we didn't seem to be "enjoying" the spirit holidays give a home. Well I am determined to change all that! I have found a new joy in life and it's name is Pinterest!! Pinterest I a website where people share creative and inspiring things. You create boards that you "pin" things on that you like. It maybe a recipe, or a craft, or a decorative idea or anything you can think of. So I have dozens of boards and one is for Valentines Day. Decorations seem like a great way for us to get excited and capture some of that holiday joy. We have been crafting up a storm.

Braces

So the big event of the first week of February was the boy child getting his braces on. The good thing about this is that at age 11 he has all his grown up teeth so by the time he goes to High School he will be done.
He gets to choose his band colors each time he goes and I thought for sure he would go green, but he surprised everyone and asked for "Patriot" colors. Uhhh when did he get so into football?? I said the only good thing was that they we also the Sox colors!
It will be a little while before he gets the bottom set on. They were a little funky to get use to but they weren't painful so all is well. The hard part is remembering that he has them and that there are things he can't eat with them.

Weeks 1 thru 4

Well we managed to keep ourselves pretty busy as we kicked off the new year.
Pooh became a minion while we we unpacking.
We spent some quality time together.
Victor attended his first school dance.
Rowan got some cavities filled while her brother got spacers.
Zoey still doesn't appreciate alone time.
Rowan spent some time as a frog!!

New Year New Goals

We won't be missing 2011 up in here!!! We had a great night WELCOMING in the New Year, just me and the kids, Kel had to work but got out real early and we got to enjoy the first day of 2012 as a family.
On that note we have set out to make this year better than ever! We have been setting family and personal
goals, and making lots of plans on how to reach them.
Just today I was thinking about our blog. With the exception of when we didn't have our computer for 16 wks I did pretty good about making an entry for every month. Now 6 wks in and nothing:( So I figure I got this app I may as well try it out and see if I could make it work. I am going to try and catch up the last 6 wks and make a priority to try and do a weekly post from my phone since I tend to take pic with it regularly.
